Broadcast Time: 11:00 AM

Date: Sunday, February 6, 2022

Type: Service Advisory

Occurrence #: N/A

The University of Toronto Campus Safety Special Constable Service is advising the community of road closures continuing on both city and University roads as of February, 6, 2022 10:30 AM. These closures remain in place to facilitate public safety operations related to the demonstrations this weekend at Queen's Park.

St. George Campus remains open. Access to University buildings remains restricted to authorized users with a valid security fob or key. On-campus parking lots, libraries and athletic centres remain closed.

Access to main campus for pre-authorized campus service vehicles will still be permitted via the King's College Rd./College St. entrance. Only these vehicles may access this entrance past the Toronto Police traffic block point at Beverley St./College St.

Campus Safety Special Constables are continuing to work with public safety partners to ensure the safety of our campus community. As a reminder, our TravelSafer service remains available to members of our community who may feel uncomfortable walking to and from a campus destination by themselves. Please call 416-978-7233 to request this service.

Some community members may also find the Virtual TravelSafer and FriendWalk features on the UofT Safety App more accessible this weekend. Both features allow you to share your live location (for the duration of your trip) with either a Campus Safety dispatcher or with a trusted friend and trigger an alert if you need help. Click here to download the Safety App.

High priority information will be shared through the University's emergency alert system (UTAlert). Register for UTAlert at: http://utoronto.ca/alerts
