ACTIONS TO TAKE
Do not allow anyone to enter behind you through doors with controlled access, even if they appear familiar or claim to have forgotten their credentials. Everyone must use their own credentials to enter secured areas. If someone asks you to hold the door, politely direct them to the proper entry procedures.
If you discover a fire of any size, activate the nearest fire alarm, leave the area and call 911. If you are able, use the nearest fire extinguisher.
Report any suspicious activity to Campus Safety at 416-978-2222 without delay. If you see something unusual or out of place, speak up and report it to Campus Safety: Your vigilance could prevent further incidents.
Keep all doors to stairwells, offices and other restricted areas closed and locked when not in use.
Remain aware of your surroundings. Know the location of fire extinguishers, fire-alarm pull stations and emergency exits.
Always treat every fire alarm seriously and follow the building evacuation procedures.
We will provide updates as the situation develops. Your co-operation and awareness are essential to keeping everyone safe.
