Community Crisis Response
Campus Safety’s Community Crisis Response role is designed to provide support-focused assistance to members of the University of Toronto community who may be experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or other crises.
The goal of this role is to provide supportive, respectful, and trauma-informed responses, helping individuals access the resources and assistance they need while maintaining the safety of the campus community.

A Civilian Support Role
The Community Crisis Response role is a civilian and non-uniformed position within Campus Safety’s Community Liaison & Support (CLS) Team.
Being non-uniformed allows the responder to engage with individuals in a more approachable and supportive manner when providing assistance.
The role focuses on listening, offering support, and helping individuals connect with appropriate campus or community resources.
How the Role Works
The Community Crisis Response role works within the Community Liaison & Support (CLS) Team and collaborates with Campus Safety Special Constables and campus partners to assess situations and provide appropriate support.
Depending on the circumstances, the role may attend calls alongside Campus Safety officers or assist with follow-up support and referrals.
